Zoom (with smooth change of magnification) optical sight 1,2-4,8х25 with glass reticle is intended for observation and aiming focusing during shooting and mounted on any hunting rifled gun with cartridges of various calibre if hunter has the necessary bracket. On the gun the sight is mounted by means of special brackets, which can be bought in hunting shops. The optical sight allows to carry out more accuracy aiming, as it magnifies image of target, and there is no parallax usual for mechanical sights during focusing on target. So target and aiming reticle are visible equally sharply. Variable magnification makes it possible to carry out aiming both on close and considerably removed targets. Due to rubber packing seals the device has increased moisture resistance. Interval of working temperature of the sight is from -45 up to 40° С. Sight 1,2-4,8х25 is a complex optomechanical system with smooth change of magnification from 1,2 х up to 4,8 х with mechanism of aiming angles and lateral correction angles input. Optical train of the sight consists of two -component telephoto lens, glass reticle, lens turn-over system and eyepiece. Lens forms an inverted image of removed target in the plane of the reticle. The lens zoom turn-over system transfers image of target and reticle in focal plane of the eyepiece, simultaneously turning over image. Shooter sees in the eyepiece the straight magnified image of the target and the reticle, which are not, displaced relatively each other at eye moving, and they are observed equally sharply. For improvement of image sharpness by the features of hunter’s eye the sight has adjustment of the eyepiece in limits of +/-3 diopters. Moving internal cell of the eyepiece makes adjustment. (In average position the eyepiece is set on 0 diopters). Change of magnification is achieved by moving lenses of turn-over system along the axis under the special law. On a rotary ring there is engraving with meaning of magnification, which has the sight in the given position. There is an aiming reticle in the focal plane of lens which is a cross-hairs with marks every 4 thousandth of distance (t.d.). The thickness of lines is equivalent to 0,1 (t.d.). In the center of the cross-hairs there are two concentric circles with diameters of 4 (t.d.) and 8 (t.d.). The reticle is fixed in the cell that can be moved in vertical and horizontal directions for installation of aiming and lateral correction angles. The design of fastening the reticle provides reliable job of the sight with powerful cartridge. Two handles located from above and on the right if to look on the side of the eyepiece make the moving of the reticle. The range of rotation of drums makes 66,5 (t.d.), (at a distance of 100 м, the point of aiming can be moved to 6,65 м on vertical and horizontal). There are uniform divisions on scales of aiming and lateral correction angles. The value of a division of the scale is equal to 0,25 thousandth of distance, the value of numerical division is 1 (t.d.). That is, at shooting on a target located at a distance of 100 м, one click of the drum displaces the point of aiming to 25 mm.
